This is catching the MOAM's attention today….. For years we were told Dr. Anthony Fauci was just a scientist, above politics, following the data wherever it led. Turns out the data led straight to his diary, and the diary wanted the President impeached.
What was written
On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Sen. Rand Paul, who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, released another 203 pages of diary entries attributed to Dr. Fauci, covering the years before COVID. Here's the line that stopped the MOAM cold, from an entry dated January 1–7, 2019, in the middle of the partial government shutdown, as quoted by Just the News (Oct 7, 2026):
“He is acting more and more bizarre. Should be impeached, but Dems are rightfully concerned that this will galvanize his base.”
It wasn't a one-off. Per Newsweek (Oct 8, 2026), on January 21, 2017, the day after the inauguration, he wrote, “He is acting amaxingly [sic] unpresidential!” By March 2017 the White House team was “a scary bunch” and “truly unscrupulous,” as the administration proposed cuts that would have hit the NIH. Even back in the 2016 campaign: “Trump made a fool of himself in the debate.” The pandemic-era pages Sen. Paul released this summer had already shown him privately calling Trump “an idiot,” “out of control” and “truly an obnoxious adolescent.” The Washington Examiner covered the release too, and Sen. Paul summed it up on X: “Remember when we were told Anthony Fauci was apolitical? His diary paints a different picture” (Oct 8, 2026).
Context (not spin)
A diary is a private thing, and every American is entitled to his opinions, Dr. Fauci included. Plenty of people in Washington couldn't stand the President in 2019. Newsweek reports it reached out to Dr. Fauci through Georgetown University for comment, and it didn't report a response. The pages come out of a Republican-led investigation, and the Democrats on that committee call it one-sided. Fair enough to note.
But Dr. Fauci wasn't just anybody. He was a career federal official, the country's top infectious disease man, who would within a year be standing at the White House podium next to the very President his diary wanted removed, asking the whole country to take his word as pure, nonpartisan science.
MOAM's diagnosis
Look, the MOAM isn't a doctor, but I can read a chart. In January 2019 there was no pandemic, no lockdown, no masks. There was a fight over a border wall and a shutdown. And the nation's top germ doctor looked at a budget standoff and wrote “should be impeached,” then went right on to the political strategy: the Democrats were “rightfully concerned” it would “galvanize his base.” That's not a scientist talking. That's a guy in the back booth at a Southie bar breaking down the next election.
Here's the rub. A year later, Americans were told to “trust the science,” and the science had a face. Turns out the face had a diary, and the diary had a side. Nobody says a public servant can't have opinions. But when you've been privately rooting for your boss's impeachment since before the virus had a name, maybe don't act shocked when half the country wonders whether the advice was all data and no politics. Around here we'd call that being wicked two-faced, and we'd say it with love, because we're from Massachusetts and we say everything with love.
Severity: ACUTE. Chronic, actually. Onset: September 2016. Prognosis: the patient has kept very detailed notes on his own condition.
MOAM Out.
