Boston Sports Morning Report — Tuesday, Oct. 13

Not for nuthin'…. But….. quiet Tuesday on the Boston board. Bills knocked off the Rams in overtime Monday night, so the Patriots are now a full game back in the AFC East. Only game on our slate tonight: Bruins late in San Jose, with Charlie McAvoy expected back.

Short version: Pats and Celts are off, Sox are done for the year, and the B's open a West Coast trip at 11 o'clock. Coffee's on.

New England Patriots

  • Yesterday: No game (Buffalo beat the Rams 37–34 in OT on MNF)
  • Today: No game
  • Next: Sun, Oct. 18 — 1:00 PM ET — vs New York Jets (home, CBS)
  • Standings: 3-2 · 2nd in AFC East, 1 game behind Buffalo (4-1) · No. 5 seed in the AFC right now

Still riding that 45–17 win over the Raiders. Jets come to Foxborough Sunday. Division looks like BUF 4-1, NE 3-2, Jets 2-3, Miami 0-5.

Boston Red Sox

  • Yesterday / Today: No games — season over
  • Next: Offseason
  • Final standings: 87-75 · 3rd in AL East · Eliminated by the Yankees in the AL Wild Card round

Hot stove season. We'll keep an eye on the winter moves.

Boston Celtics

  • Yesterday: No game (last out: W 144–106 vs Philadelphia, Sat. Oct. 10, preseason)
  • Today: No game
  • Next (preseason): Wed, Oct. 14 — 7:30 PM ET — vs Charlotte Hornets (home)
  • Regular-season opener: Tue, Oct. 20 — 3:00 PM ET — @ Detroit Pistons (NBC/Peacock)
  • Status: 2-0 in the preseason · 2026-27 regular season not started

Hornets tomorrow night at the Garden, then Philly Friday. Opener is still that Tuesday afternoon tip in Detroit.

Boston Bruins

  • Yesterday: No game (last out: W 5–1 vs Philadelphia, Sat. Oct. 10)
  • Today: 11:00 PM ET — @ San Jose Sharks (NESN / ESPN)
  • Next: Fri, Oct. 16 — 10:00 PM ET — @ Anaheim (NESN)
  • Standings: 4-2-0 · 8 points · 3rd in the Atlantic · East playoff spot per NHL.com

West Coast trip opens tonight. McAvoy is expected to make his season debut after the six-game suspension. Then Anaheim Friday and LA Saturday. Late ones — put the coffee on.

That's the Tuesday board. Enjoy the quiet day, and stay up for the B's if you can.

MOAM Out.
