Not for nuthin'…. But….. Saturday morning and the Celtics finally have a W next to their name. Tatum took over the Garden in the home opener, the B's are back on the ice tonight, and the Pats get a long weekend to lick their wounds. Grab the coffee. Here we go.
Short version: Celts beat the Knicks 107-103 Friday night, the Bruins host San Jose tonight at 7 sitting first in the Atlantic, the Pats are off until Nov. 1 in Miami, and the Sox are still home for the winter.
Boston Celtics

- Today: No game
- Next: Mon., Oct. 26, 7:30 PM ET, vs Chicago Bulls (home)
- Standings: 1-1, 3rd in the Atlantic, 1 game behind Philadelphia and Toronto (both 2-0)
Jayson Tatum, 36 points, 9 boards, 7 assists, with 25 of those points after halftime and seven of the Celtics' last eight. That's the guy. Neemias Queta chipped in 15 and three blocks, Paul George had 15, and the Knicks got nothing from Mikal Bridges (0 for 8). Detroit's in the rear-view. Bulls come to town Monday.
Boston Bruins

- Today: 7:00 PM ET, vs San Jose Sharks (home, NESN)
- Next: Tue., Oct. 27, 8:00 PM ET, @ Carolina Hurricanes (ESPN)
- Standings: 8-2-1, 17 points, 1st in the Atlantic (3 points up on Tampa Bay, Ottawa and Toronto), No. 2 in the East, one point behind Carolina
Coming off that DiPietro shutout, the B's have a seven-game point streak going and the Sharks (6-4-1) in the building tonight. Keep it rolling, then a big one Tuesday in Raleigh against the only team ahead of us in the East.

- Standings: 4-3, 2nd in the AFC East, 1.5 games behind Buffalo (5-1), No. 9 in the AFC right now
No Pats football this Sunday after the Thursday night game, so it's a free weekend to rake the leaves. Miami comes in 0-5. Get healthy, get right, go take care of business.
Boston Red Sox
- Yesterday / Today: No games, season over
- Next: Spring training opens Fri., Feb. 19, 2027, vs Northeastern at JetBlue Park, then the Grapefruit League opener Sat., Feb. 20, @ Tampa Bay (times TBA)

Hot stove season. Five months till Opening Day in Seattle. Not that anybody's counting.
