Not for nuthin'…. But….. Saturday came in with a chill — Marblehead's under a soft gray sky with a gusty northwest wind and a high only near 49, and patchy frost is on the way tonight with a low around 33. Sunday looks sunny and a touch milder. Here's how four corners of New England looked around 7:30 this morning.
Marblehead Harbor (BYC Oceanfront) — The rain's gone, but the sky is a flat pale gray over the harbor. The water's calm and steely, the moorings are still dotted with boats, and the Boston Yacht Club float is dry for a change. Hold onto your hat once that northwest breeze kicks up.
Mount Washington North View — Iced shut for another day. The summit cam is caked in rime, and up top it's a high near 21 with northwest winds of 55 to 60 mph, gusts to 80 and wind chills as low as 11 below. Snow showers are possible. October on the Rockpile, folks.
Great Eddy Covered Bridge, Waitsfield — Cold and moody in the Mad River Valley. Bare branches up front, a few reds and golds hanging on along the bank, the river running dark under the bridge, and low clouds over the hills. A snow shower or two is possible this morning before things dry out.
Bartlett Experimental Forest, NH — From the NEON tower, the canopy still shows yellows and oranges among the evergreens, but the peaks behind are disappearing into a bluish haze of snow showers. Winter's knocking on the White Mountains' door.

MOAM Out.
