New England This Morning — October 11, 2026

Not for nuthin'…. But….. Sunday of the long weekend brings a little of everything: a hazy sunrise on the coast, a rare clear look from the top of Mount Washington, and the Mad River Valley's foliage starting to thin out.

Marblehead Harbor (BYC Oceanfront) — The sun is low on the left edge of the frame, glowing through a thin, milky layer of high cloud with a contrail cutting across the sky. The harbor is glassy calm, with the moored boats sitting still on their own reflections and the launches tied up along the Boston Yacht Club float.

Mount Washington North View — After days of a frosted-over lens, the summit camera finally has a view. The northern peaks and ridges roll out under a soft, hazy sky with a pinkish band on the horizon, and the rocks on the summit are dusted white with frost.

Great Eddy Covered Bridge, Waitsfield — A grey, overcast morning by the bridge. A bright red maple is still holding on at the river's edge, with orange and gold leaves around it, but plenty of trees on the bank have gone bare. The Mad River is low and still, reflecting the bridge and the trees.

MOAM Out.
