New England This Morning — September 26, 2026

Not for nuthin'…. But….. New England woke up under two different skies this morning.

Marblehead Harbor is packed tight under a soft gray ceiling — boats snug on the moorings, kayaks still racked on the BYC dock, water barely ruffling. Up on Mount Washington the North View is wide open: rocky alpine scrub going rusty for fall, ridges stacked clear to the horizon, and just a thin band of cloud sitting over the far peaks. Over in Waitsfield the Great Eddy covered bridge is quiet, the Mad River is mirror-calm, and that big tree by the bank is already tipping into gold.

That coastal nor’easter we’ve been watching is putting some breeze and showers on the Massachusetts shore today. Inland looks a little kinder for now. If you’ve got anything loose on a Marblehead dock or deck, tuck it down before the wind picks up.
