the Next Hundred Days

So we're into the last 100 days of a sojourn that seemed mountainous when it first started.   For well over two years, we have been making the biweekly trek to FreshAyer, and it seems surreal that the finish line is finally in sight.
~
Ironically, some of the self righteous coffin nailers of two years ago are in their own rough patches these days.  Maybe the "Big Boy Time Outs" that they advocated will be something that they will be treating themselves to in some way, shape or manner.    Good ole Law of Karma never seems to let up.  After the next hundred days, I wonder who will have the better outlook?
~
"Well, the thing about time is that time isn't really real,
It's just your point of view,
How does it feel for you?
Einstein said he could never understand it all." - sang James Taylor.
~
The laws of Physics have been taking a beating lately with particles that apparently can move faster than the speed of light.  The whole concept of time gets turned upside down, when you can move faster that you can see an object.  It means that you can experience something before it "appears" or "happens".  Even the longest, most painful ordeals, sometimes seem like they never happened with they are over.
~
For most people, the next hundred days will cruise along with a regular cadence.  Others, who are dreading their coming karmic ordeals will see it fly by.   But for us, I think it will still feel like a long time.
~
But then it will be over.

Fox Network Pitch

Amanda Johnson is in from California with her signicant other Tomas, who is a network executive at Fox.  Her brother, POTY Jeremy is also here with wife, Julie.
~
Joanne and I will be bringing the grandkids by to see them later today.
~
I was thinking of combining business with pleasure when I meet Tomas, because it will be a great time to pitch a new Fox mini series, detailing the adventures of a certain Mountain of a Man and his sidekick, Buck.
~
George Clooney would be great casting for the MOAM, and Brad Pitt could probably play an acceptable Buck.  I really don't care about the story line as long as it contains a decent amount of gratuitous sex scenes.
~
Generally the plot will center around two wicked good looking Marblehead guys who build their respective small businesses into industrial powerhouses, yet never forget all of the insignificant little people that they step on in their quest for wealth and power.   There will be a lot of "women want them, fish fear them" subplots, but they never stray from their trophy wives, Roanne and Vail.
~
Through it all, a vast right wing conspiracy known as the Nanepashemet Peep Society, pulls all of the strings in leading the world to a new enduring state of justice and enlightenment.
~
It's basically a reality series and should be an easy sell to Tomas.

Racist and Disgusting

I like Chris Rock, the comedian.
~
He grew up in Brooklyn's notoriously tough Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, and his humor has a strong profane edge.
~
But what I really like about him is that his comedy is brutally honest and not politically correct.
~
He decries people who call themselves liberal or conservative and says that every situation should be looked at on its own merits.  Highly refreshing.
~
I've been thinking of Rock because it would be interesting to hear his commentary regarding the racist comments emanating from liberals regarding the Black Republican candidate, Herman Cain.
~
It could be argued that Cain, an Atlanta resident who matriculated at Morehouse College, has a much more genuine Black heritage than Obama, who was brought up in Indonesia and Hawaii by his white mother and white grandmother.
~
Why do these liberal commentators insist on putting up terms like "minstrel" or "plantation" when they write about Cain?  It is racist and disgusting to conjure up these images just because you don't agree with the message that Cain is speaking.

No Doze

I got stuck down in New Haven County late this afternoon with a three hour drive ahead of me back to Marblehead.  By the time I got up to Charlton on the Mass Pike, It was five o'clock, I was feeling drowsy, and I knew that the trip to cut through Boston would be a traffic Bitch.
~
So I broke down at the Charlton Rest Stop and bought a bottle of that 5 Hour Energy  drink.
~
I had heard that it wasn't as bad for you as Red Bull.
~
My feeling on all of these energy drink stimulants is that they can't be more unhealthy for you than dozing and driving off of the highway.
~
Actually, the 5 Hour stuff just seemed to keep me normally alert.... no shakes or anything.  We'll see how I sleep tonight.

Having tried this foul tasting swill once before, I checked out the label and it is the equivalent of 1 cup of coffee. I'll stick with the joe.

Libyan Lesson

I was thinking about that Dictator post and wondering why those guys like Gaddafi always seem to come to naught.
~
Then it dawned on me that everybody has to have both supporters and detractors, because people see things differently and have experiences that cause them to see different conclusions from the same "reality".
~
It may surprize you to know, but even a Mountain of a Man like myself has those who don't like him.
~
Granted, these people are generally twisted, moronic types who don't have a clue, but nonetheless .... they legitimately view me as an enemy.
~
If I were a dictator, I would most certainly repress these evil low lifes.  And in turn, those misguided friends of the morons would form an underlying opposition to my enlighteded regime, which would culminate in one or more of them tracking me down like a Bengal Tiger in Ohio on some ill-fated future date.
~
So that's undoubtably how my dictatorship would end as well.
~
Our system of shared power and checks and balances diffuses the repressions that utimately topple dictatorships.  I won't be traveling to Libya soon.,

Dictator Down

Now that Gadhafi has bought the bullet, the only bad boy left out there is the North Korean Dictator, Kim Jong-il.  And Kim desperately wants to play nice.... talking about his desire to remove nukes from the Korean penninsula and stuff.
~
Why would anybody want to be a dictator anyway?  It always seems to go bad for them in the end.
~
Has there ever been a case wherea guy gets tons of power like Gadhafi had ,but ended up where everybody loved him. and mourned his passing?  Can't think of anyone.

A Clear Difference

I got my iPhone and also got one for Joanne.  They were cheap and I found out that we had been overpaying on our cell phone plan, so the increased cost of the new phones will be paid for in the better plan savings.
~
Sprint once sent me a bill of $32,000.00 for a $320.00 phone bill, so I don't have a lot of faith in their accounting.  When I called the customer service lady, she apologized for the mistake and said not to worry, they would send me a corrected one.   Now I find out that I was grossly overcharged at the $320 rate.
~
Whatever.
~
The iPhone is the balls though.  It is intuitive and the quality of the sound is so good, that there's probably a good chance that I will understand over 50% of my next conversation with Bobby Brown.

Ups and Downs

Lots of ups and downs yesterday.
~
In the morning, I had to explain to Sarah Crawford that, even though I had designed a costume especially for the occasion, Joanne and I couldn't attend the G-Party that had been scheduled for this Halloween season.  The Crawford's Halloween Party is always the social kickoff of the holidays, and I hate to miss it, but we have to take care of some business that weekend.
~
I was afraid that Sarah would be pissed.  Wouldn't you be mighty Miffed  if the MOAM pulled out of your Shindig???? But she seemed to take it without any rants or obscenities.
~
So that was a down, then an up.
~
Then Joanne and I went over to Home Depot to get a sprinkler, soaker hose and some grass seed for the backyard turf project.  I raked a truck load of leaves and debris out of the backyard, then moved the 2 cubic yards of loam out of the driveway and onto strategic piles in the backyard.  That took three backbraking hours, and I was really exhausted.
~
But the yard looks in great shape, so that was a down, then an up.
~
Then Harvey and Lisa Panakio Rowe came over with the lovely Maria Rowen to watch the Pats game.  The Patriots were down by three with a minute to go and it was looking bleak, then Tom Brady showed why he is the best player of the generation when he marched down the field and threw a TD pass with seven seconds left.
~
Mike and Kate were at Gillette with their significant others, Pam Georgia and Brady Boyle,  to watch the game and they must have been as pumped as we were.
~
The dinner was the balls, but the game was stressful until the Pats pulled it off.  So that was a down, then an up.  Plus Harvey won his fantasy football matchup, so everybody left happy.
~
Then I watched Boardwalk Empire and fell asleep.
~
What do you want???? A freaking exciting Blog post every time?

Indonesian Understanding

http://nanepashemet.spreadshirt.com/

Orders are picking up at the Nanepashemet Blogging Apparel Store.
~
Which is a bit of a concern because I'm expecting a surge when the Holiday Gift Season hits next month or soon.   The Indonesian sweat shop that manufactures these fine items has been moving along at a brisk pace, but I need them to step up the production if we are to meet the increasing sales demand.
~

So late last night, I put in the call to Jakarta and had a nice conversation with the manager there, even though  he has a a halting command of the English language.  Seems he put me on Speaker and started yelling... "It NESTA,  It NESTA" to some people in the background.
~
When I told him that we had to increase the pace of production, he started yelling "NESTA want MORE.. NESTA want MORE."
~
Immediately the crowd in the background started chanting something in Indonesian...
~

http://nanepashemet.spreadshirt.com/

"Persetan Anda sialan bercinta, "
"Persetan Anda sialan bercinta, "
"Persetan Anda sialan bercinta. "
~
I have no freaking idea what that means, but the manager said it was Indonesian for "We will comply Master J."   When I get a chance I'll confirm this translation at Google Translate.
~
So I think we should be in good shape filling all of the orders in the weeks ahead.

This is My Turf

Today was the first day that I got back to working out on the Cybex since I sprained my ankle and knee on an ill fated Columbus Day Jog/Walk/DragMyFatAss that ended with Dave Bruett giving me a ride home.  But that's a different story.
~
After the workout today, I walked outside to cool down and noticed that the developer across the street had half a pallet of turf rolls, and it seemed like he was done with the landscaper.  So I wandered over and asked him if I could have the leftover pallet... but found out that he had already given it to the Town Park Dept.
~
A lesser man would have dropped the topic then and there.
~
But we are talking about a Mountain of a Man here.
~
I called Mike Lane, over at Park and Recreation and left a voicemail asking if he was going to use the pallet today, and would he consider giving it to me.
~
About 15 minutes later, Mike called back... had already called the developer and said that he was giving the pallet to me.
~
That's called Mountain of a Man Political Clout and you can't get it overnight.
~
Anyway.... I went to the Swampscott Landscapers place on Danvers Road and ordered 2 cubic yards of loam, then bought a tamp and some grass seed at Home Depot.
~
About 100 sf of the back yard with will be looking nice and grassed by about 11:00 AM tomorrow morning.

dougmaxfield said...

To hell with the town park dept., right? always jumping on free shit while good, honest god-fearing Americans are planting grass seed. Well done, good sir. Well done.

Oh Yeah?  Seed THIS, Waterman.

Cain Seems Able

I was riding around in the F150 this  afternoon doing some errands and listening to talk radio when Herman Cain was interviewed talking about his 9-9-9 tax plan.
~
Naturally this is being scrubbed very closely since Cain is getting leadership numbers in the Republican polls for President.  I don't know enough about the details of the plan to be critical at this time, but he was taking hits from the interviewer that the plan would raise taxes.
~
His response was crisp and direct.
~
With Bachmann and Perry making gaffes and losing momentum, and with Romney competent but, frankly, boring.... this guy could be on the rise.
~
What impresses me is that he actually has a plan and is willing to speak plainly about it.   I'm going to start listening and learn more.

Peep Status Reiterated

I just started a Nanepashemet Peep page on Facebook.
~
If you want to be listed as a Nanepashemet Peep, you'll have to friend me, then say something.
~
As amazing as it may seem, many of you have have continued to ask what constitutes being a Nanepashemet Peep. It's a hard question to answer... worthy of a mind of the calibre of a Sartre, Kieerkergard, or other freaking wicked smart deep thinker. All are called, a few will answer, the rest dodged the bullet.

~
Plainly stated... to be a Nanepashemet Peep.... you can't be dead, you can't be an animal, and you have to be either annoying or inspirational.
~
And you can never ask which category you have fallen into.
~
That's it. So enjoy your Honor/Disgrace.

Frugal v Bernie and Phyl

In a continuing effort to find peace in the morning, I've run into another perpetrator who is actually more annoying that Bernie and Phyl.
~
Kathleen "Fannie" Doxer runs Frugal Fannies, and her ubiquitous morning ads are slightly less worse than a slow drag of fingernails diagonally across a chaulkboard.
~

Sign of the Times

I'm thinking about putting one of these cool historical signs on my house.  They look nice on the homes in Old Town, Marblehead.
~
Trouble is, our house is a split level, circa 1960.
~
So I'll have to modify the sign somewhat....  starting with the fish.
~
I won't be going with the Golden Cod.  Our sign will have this cool Bluefish that I bought on Amazon.
~
And I think I'll use a Celtic Font for the lettering, just to tamper a little bit with the old Yankee letters that are on most of the signs.
~
On the whole, the sign will be a contemporary rendition, and hopefully will piss off some of the Townies.

Founding Fathers Vision

Gave all of my tax information to the accountant today.  I can't put it off any longer.
~
The Federal Government is my biggest creditor in so many ways.  It has unlimited power to turn our lives upside down.  Make a mistake.... do not pass Go... go directly to Jail.
~
I've said it before... and it's sounding like a broken record... But.....

Is this what the Founding Fathers, who risked their lives to throw off British tyranny, had in mind????

Maiming the Mormon

Mitt Romney is a Mormon.
~
Some Bible toting Texas minister who supports Governor Perry is on the news tonight claiming that Mitt is not a Christian.   Dr. Robert Jeffress told NBC News. "Mitt Romney's a good moral person but he's not a Christian. Mormonism is not Christianity. It has always been considered a cult by the mainstream of Christianity. So it's the difference between a Christian and a non-Christian."
~
Guess what Dr. Halleluyahh??? Romney's not a Jew either.  Or a Catholic.... or a Jehovah's Witness.
~
So what is the dimwitted Minister's point?  Obviously that if you don't worship the incarnation of God that the good Minister follows, then you shouldn't be the President.
~
I most disrespectfully disagree.
~
And for the record.... the Romans considered the early Christians to be a Cult... and had no trouble feeding them to the Lions in the Coliseum.
~
That tends to be the underlying policy of deep thinking bigots like Dr. Jeffress.
~
I'm not ready to throw the coveted Nanepashemet Nod to Romney.... that decision will take a long time to play out......but Perry's chances have taken a dive if he hangs around with wierdos like Dr. Halleluyahh.

Campaign help for Senator Brown

Speaking of silly, Nancy Pelosi, the outspoken and undiscerning former Speaker of the House, sounded off on the Senator Scott Brown comment about not wanting to see his opponent with her clothes off.
~
Nancy says that the comment proves that Scott is "clueless".
~
The thing that amazes me here is how such an idiot as Nancy Pelosi could rise through the ranks of the House of Representatives.  How could anybody hope to give this ridiculous exchange between Scott and his Democratic opponent any credibility?    Apparently Pelosi hopes to.
~
Nancy... Am I to believe that you wish the Senator had stated that he wanted to see his Democratic opponent naked?   It's so hard to figure out what people really mean when the silliness starts, isn't it?
~
I have to believe that Pelosi's criticism can only aid Scott's campaign.  Stick around Nancy.  We need to cushion Scott's polls.

POTW Week 40 of 2011

We're in the 4th Qtr. of a year where there's been a lot of insecurity in business.  The stock market has been a mess, we have a President who seems to think that the producers are the bad guys, the unemployment rate is over 10%, and no policy seems to be working to tweak us out of the economic doldrums.  Plus, look what happened to the Red Sox!!!
~
I don't mean to sound freaking negative, but we seem to have our big toe testing the water up at Shit's Creek.
~
But at least we have the Peep of the Week.

Tis the Silly Season

Once again, the enraged lefties will be throwing the kitchen sink at Republican US Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts.  Can't they see how this negative stuff is ultimately self destructive to themselves?
~
They can't... because the Democrats truly believe that we are sheep.  That we will believe the type of positioned statements that they throw in these situations.  Maybe they take this position because a sizable amount of them do have these herding, unthinking tendencies.  It takes a Village for them,  Not their own two feet and initiative.
~
Already, his announced Democratic opponent,  Harvard Law Professor Elizabeth Warren, has hauled out this juicy bit from when Brown was  stupid college student like all of us.  If I had his looks and could have cashed in when I had college bills, I would have been all in.
~
The Democrats are trying to rev up outrage that Brown has made fun of her looks.  He basically said that he would not like to look at her with her clothes off.... an honest answer that I wholly concur with.
~
Brown will elicit a ton of negativity this election season... just like the last.  Because the lefties can't believe that there are people that don't need them in their stronghold here in Massachusetts Kennedy country.

Big Mo Returning

There is a major Westerbeke Marine Diesel distributor, Hansen Marine,  located about a half mile from my house.  Makes me think that I should consider powering the Chamberlain Marblehead Gunning Dory with an inboard, 12HP diesel engine, instead of a Honda outboard located in the floor well..
~
That's right... I'm staring to rev up the Gunning Dory again.  This blog is supposed to be about boatbuilding after all.... isn't it?   And I have all of the dory components... the frames, bottom and keels... in a nice unused space at the Peabody Nanepashemet Telecom Warehouse.
~
All I have to do is set up the frames on the strongback and secure them to the bottom, add the keels, and I should be cutting and adding the strip cedar planking.
~
Time is still at a premium though.   And Joanne is asking me to put together some shelving to camoflage the elevator door at the Sundance house.
~
But I can sense the momentum returning.

Nice Work Steve Jobs. You did well . RIP

Steve Jobs, Chairman and a founder of Apple Computer, died today.  I've been coincedentally waxing away about the Apple iPhone recently, and feel the need to note Jobs passing.
~
The first great thing that Apple did was to popularize the idea of a personal computer.  Other companies had been in the forefront, but it was Jobs who took Steve Wozniak's Apple 1 invention and captured the imagination of nerds like myself who thought a lot about how things might be different if we had access to individual and managable computers.
~
Apple came out with the Apple 1, Apple ll and Apple lll.  I never purchased one, having access to a Tandy Radio Shack TRS-80, buy I did do some consulting to teach some clients how to use the Apples.
~
You would not believe how clumsy and technical these early machines were, but they did three things.... they enabled you to automate spreadsheets so you could construct financial models easily, they did word processing, which was a quantum leap over typewritting, and they allowed you to collect and manipulate data in data bases.
~
All of the commands were keyboard based, and you moved the cursor by memorizing keyboard combinations.  If you were really nerdy like I was at the time, you got pretty good at it.
~
Jobs had a big part in getting people aware of the potential of personal computing... but he took it the next step when he popularized the mouse with the introduction of the MacIntosh.  Once again, Apple didn't invent the mouse, but they... through the marketing genius of Jobs.... captured the imagination of the computing public.   I paid $4,000 for my first Mac, a 128K black and white beauty that stored data on diskettes.
~
Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak
Apple also had a vastly superior and simple operating system, but lost the advantage to IBM and Microsoft when they disallowed the use of the system on competing hardware.   The world was then divided between Apple computers and IBM compatible computers using Microsoft MS-DOS based software.
~
Although Apple lost market share, it stayed in the game because the Mac and its operating system were better, but applications grew faster, particularly in business for the MS-DOS based IBM systems.
~
Jobs resurrected the company with the introduction of the iPods and iPhones.   Once again, he popularized and easy to use interface and made you feel cool using it.
~
I read accounts that he was a jerk and an egomaniac, and really rode roughshod over the other Founder, Steve Wozniak, who had opted out of management at Apple before the introduction of the Mac.
~
But he was one of the rare people of the age who changed the wants and behaviors of his entire generation.
~
Nice job Steve.  You did well . RIP

iPhone Buzz

I went into a Sprint retail store on route 114 in Peabody today and asked about trade up programs for when the iPhone came out.  The young lady looked at me like I was the stupid one and said that she had no information on that.... that they didn't carry the iPhone.
~
Not a good sign.
~
Sprint is betting the house on the iPhone, and the front line workers aren't even up to speed.  Sprint has been one of my best customers in the past, and I do know a lot about the company.   So I'm not going to get too critical.  But their employees should be buzzing about the iPhone instead of looking at me like I'm asking a stupid question.

The Knock on Knox

This is the guy who killed Meredith Kercher, the roommate of Amanda Knox.  Knox and her boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito.
~
Rudy Guede had DNA all over the apartment and his footprints and handprints were found with in Kercher's blood.  He had a criminal background and had just met Kercher.  He claims that while he was taking a shit, Knox and Sollecito came in and committed the murder.  But their DNA never showed up in evidence.  Seems like quite a stretch.
~
There will be those who will say that Knox got off because she is a White American.   But all the evidence shows that she spent four years in Italian prison because she was fingered by Guede.
~
Reports at the time say that Knox was acting weirdly.   But she was a 20 year old college kid.   I would had  hated to be put on trial for how I acted as a 20 year old.  She is probably guilty of stupidity and bad behavior, but I just don't buy the murder rap.
~
This case is closed.  Justice has taken in inexhorable, expensive course in Italy.  I hope that the Kercher family can find closure for the heinous loss of their daughter and sister.

Sprint for the Apple

Apple is releasing the iPhone 5 this week and Sprint is planning to offer it with an unlimited data plan.
~
I'll be trading in my Blackberry soon.  The Apple technology is so advanced and the selection of useful applications is so vast, that you really can't say that you are utilizing cutting edge technology unless you have one.
~
The ease of use and the intuitive nature of the device bringing personal communication together with a comprehensive library of applications that cover personal interests and business data, has leveled the playing field, where the world's knowledge fits neatly in our pockets and not just in libraries or corporate boardrooms.
~
Apple is an amazing company that has led the way in making the information revolution accessible to all of us.   Watch what happens to Sprint stock with the addition of the iPhone 5....   especially in light of this Nanepashemet Blog endorsement.

Blame Game

Terry "Tito" Francona was fired as the manager of the Red Sox today.  You could see it coming.  Assigning blame is an important and cherished practice in corporate America.   When Shit Happens, some poor schmuck always gets covered in it.
~
Who gets blamed is never straight forward.  Generally, the Ass Kissers who practice CYA more than a Jesuit says the Rosary have manuvered themselves outside of the line of fire.  Usually, the victims are the up front guys who go about doing their duty regardless of which way the wind is blowing.  They are naively too busy trying to do the right thing and never take time to man the barricades.
~
There is an argument that Tito was the best manager that the Sox had in the last hundred years.
~
But someone had to take the fall.

TommyO said...
I think a lot of people would like to say the Red Sox fired the Manager. Quite frankly I liked Tito. He said he had lost control of the clubhouse. There are a bunch of overpriced nimrods on that team and I don't know who could have been able to control them. Tito stated that he owed it to the organization to move on. I believe that he resigned and good for him. The head office is too busy selling bricks and working on the circus that has become Fenway Park and lost sight of their priorities. If the players see that the management doesn't care about the ultimate goal, why would you expect them to. And another thing. You need more people who care than don't care, the Sox have to get some players with passion and guts and turn this thing around. Go Pats..

BTW, count yourself as an enemy of Allah, Rezwan (which is a pussy name if I ever heard one.)  I'm sure that Allah has a hand in landing you where you belong, and preventing the murder of innocent people.

Wicked Shockah

The Red Sox had a 9 game lead to make the playoffs at the beginning of September.... and they lost 20 games during the month, being elimimated last night.
~
Did that just happen?
~
What kind of an Alternate Universe is this anyway?
~
All month long, I expected them to turn the slump around.... but they followed it right into the Shitter.
~
There will be a call for heads to roll... Tito, Theo, etc.  I can never authomatically buy into this kind of thinking.  Tito Francona or Theo Epstein are not doing the pitching and hitting.   Did we blame them when we were riding high at the beginning of the month?
~
It's just a Wicked Shockah!

Republican Metabolism

No news day.
~
Gov. Chris Christie of NJ seems like a straight talking politician.  I was watching Keith Oberman on MSNBC last night and Keith was coming up with all sorts of reasons why Christie shouldn't run for President, which makes me think that the Looney Lefties are afraid of this.
~
That alone is reason to back Christie, although it's a little weak.  And No... I wouldn't be supporting him just because he is a fellow Fat Man.  As a Fat Guy, I see no reason why his weight should be an issue... metabolism is not an ideology
~
Other than that, I have to head out to Littleton, MA today to pull a Builidng Permit for one of Nanepashemet Telecom's clients.   The best thing about driving to Littleton is that I'm not driving to New Haven.  We're making Alex do that.
~
Like I said... No news day.
~
Yet you read this anyway.

All Quiet in the Gulf of Mexico

You don't hear much about the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill these days.   Remember the BP leak that people like Congressman Ed Markey were saying had ruined the Gulf of Mexico forever?
~
Apparently, fish counts are triple what they were before the spill.  Some are attributing this to a ban on commercial fishing with little residual effect from the spill.
~
So the Gulf Spill goes into the same file with the Swine Flu.  Another "end of the world as we have known it " scenario that the Liberals made a run with.
~
Another Dud.  But another scare is soon to come.  Fear mongering is part of their MO.

Peering Through the Years

I've been running into some people from the old neighborhood, the Highlands in Lynn, lately.... people I haven't seen or really thought about for over 40 years.   Then when you see them, you peer through the gray hair and body changes and see the kids that you used to hang with on the Little League fields and basketball courts.
~
Seems almost supernatural.  How the hell did we get this old?  When did the time slip by?  When you see these guys, you get the same feelings that you had when you were 12 years old.

Progress Report

Been getting a lot of questions from well-meaning Peeps asking how sales are going at the Nanepashemet Blogging Apparel store.
~
I mean... how many people have you seen walking around with the Tuna Lips logo or in a TommyO muscle shirt?  Don't expect to see a Nanepashemet Peeps Thong necessarily, but I thought by now that a lot of WhaleEye Blogging Caps would be making the rounds.
~
So... there's your answer, Beearches.  Things are way below projections.  And those Indonesians are expecting to get paid soon too.

Squirrel Poontang

So we're traveling the regular every other Sunday route to FreshAyer.... down 128 up Rt. 2A to Rt. 2.  All of a sudden, I started to notice the high amount of squished squirrel carcasses littering the roadway.  Must have passed about a dozen little red mounds of grey fur and squirrel innards.
~
Plus, there were a lot of squirrels darting across the road.
~
This can only mean one thing, and I don't mean a run on acorn hoarding.
~
These squirrels are undoubtedly looking for a little nookie, a little tail, or in their case, a little more tail.
~
And they are willing to pay a stiff price for squirrel poontang.

Indonesian Salutation

Here's the thing. Peeps.
~
I might be dumb, but I'm not stupid.
~
How long did you think it would take me to find out that " Besar Gemuk Keparat" didn't mean "Esteemed Business Partner" in Indonesian?
~
Basically it took me less than a week to figure out that it mean't "Big Fat Bastard"..... thank you Google Translate.
~
So now that we understand each other, keep pumping out those T Shirts.

Tank Top ReTool

Had to redesign the classic Tommy O Tank top.  The Indonesians just couldn't get the Irish Tri-Color Flag right and they were gouging me on the price at the same time.
~
Those low paid Asians can really be a pain in the Ass.
~
So I bit the bullet and came out with a Tommy O logo that costs a lot less to manufacture.
~
Sometimes being a Mountain of a Man means that you can change if prompted by screaming Asians.

Pronouncing Cancun

The other day, I heard Obama mispronoucing on an ethnic basis the names of some places... like Cancun and Copenhagen.   Here he is, talking along with his faithful teleprompter, when all of a sudden he veers into some ethic accent when he mentions these places.
~
Turned me right off.
~
The French call their city "Paree"... but we Americans call it  "Paris".   As long as I'm an American from Boston, I'll continue to call it "Paris".
~
You hear a lot of this phoney pronunciation from people on National Public Radio and other liberal media outlets.   It always has some sort of elitist twinge to it.
~
Sorry but I miss Bush butchering the language. At least he didn't overpronouce stuff on purpose. Natalie Jacobson on Channel 5 used to be the worse. Give her a Latino name or Serbian town to pronouce and she was off to the races with her own ethnic version of the name. Techs at the station told me she was a real Jerk anyway.
~
Couldn't believe it when I heard Obama do the same thing.

Tuna Lips Wannabees

To all of you nagging, clamoring Tuna Lips fans whining about his inclusion into the Nanepashemet Blogging Apparel line.... HOLD YOUR FREAKING HORSES!!!!
~
Like I'd really leave out ole TL????
~
The Indonesians were having a little trouble getting the Tuna Lips graphic just right, so I cut them a little slack.
~
Hope that was OK with you.
~
Anyway, after enduring a ration of Indonesian obscenities, I finally did get the first Tuna Lips entry out of the sweat shop and on line for purchase, although I basically don't recommend that you buy this T Shirt.
~
Do you really want people to treat you like Tuna Lips?

Morons Released

I'm happy that those Americans were released from Iranian prison.
~
But, Not for Nothing.... what kind of an asshole decides that the Iraqi border would be a nice place to hike???  What's the matter with the freaking Applalachian Trail????   Or even Mount Kilimanjaro if you have cash to burn?
~
Something is screwy with these morons.   If they are not CIA, then they are real assholes.

American Hikers Leave Iran After Prison Release

By J. DAVID GOODMAN and ALAN COWELL

New York Times Published: September 21, 2011

Two American hikers imprisoned on espionage charges in Iran were released Wednesday after days of conflicting signals, ending diplomatic skirmishing that complicated the United States’ already fraught relationship with Tehran for more than two years.
The men, Shane M. Bauer and Joshua F. Fattal, both 29, were released from the notorious Evin Prison at dusk and whisked by diplomatic convoy to a plane that took them to Oman, where they raced down the stairs of the aircraft to hug waiting family members.

Sweating It at the Sweat Shop

I knew this new line of Nanepashemet Blogging fashions would be popular... but even I didn't think it would go this viral so quickly.
~
I've got about a hundred, normally docile Indonesians, bitching away at me on Skype from South East Asia with a fairly unnerving rancor.
~
How was I to know that these orders would be crushing the capacity in their happy little sweatshop?????
~
And now... with the addition of the TommyO Tank Tops and the Mountain of a Man Couch Potato Pants.... things are only going to get worse for them.

Nanepashemet Nautical

Blogging and Boating Gear

It dawns on me, Peeps, that the new line of Nanepashemet Blogging Apparel can also be used for things other than blogging.
~
In particular, they are really cool for nautical activities, and in independent testing, they have been found to seriously attract the opposite sex.

The line also works exceptionally well in either workout or couch potato sessions.

Hostile Work Environment

So now the story comes out that the Obama White House is a "hostile work environment".  That's the best thing I've heard in awhile.  It makes me think that Obama is not a hopeless case.   At least the place is not the wussy, politically correct, goo-goo, phoney, moonbat haven that I had previously imagined it as.
~
At their core, liberals are always the worse offenders anyway.  National Public Radio (NPR), that collection of phoney accented pseudo-intellecturals has a particularly high rate of discrimination and sexual harassment suits.
~
I've always thought that liberals look inside themselves... are horrified at the base emotions and beliefs that they see.... and project it upon the dumb conservatives who are struggling just to be left alone by the government and everyone else.
~
That's why liberals are quick to call others racist, or polluters, or other base things that they really see in themselves.   So if they are chewing each other up in the hostile work environment of the White House, it just stands to reason.

Straining Exploitation

Whoa Peeps!!!!
~
I knew that the Nanepashemet Line would be hot.... but easy on the order button.
~
My Indonesian sweat shop can only manufacture these items so fast.   You've really put the strain on my exploited Asian laborers.
~
BTW, if you have a specific clothing item that you would like to see desecrated with Nanepashemet Blog propaganda, let me know and I'll put a special request into the Indonesians.
~
Also.... don't forget to check out the Women's Items on Pg. 2 of the Nanepashemet Peep Apparel store.....
~
Tasteful yet slightly erotic merchandise.

Tuna Lips said...
I likes to wear me one of them thongs too. Frees up access for skritchin' my undercarriage, and keeps the snarl ups to a minimum when beset by a case of ring worm after eating at Shoo Fly's. Jeez, that possum meat turns fast.
