Next Phase

Closing for Moonshadow at 9:00 this morning. We are now moving past the acquisition stage into construction. This is always the easiest phase of the development process, but the holidays and time schedule will pose challenges.
~
We have to take down all of the non bearing walls and reconstruct four classrooms, all without major disruption to the existing finishes. On the outside, we have to fence in the play area, and build an office addition in the back. We don't have the budget for a gut remodel, and it is crucial that the building be ready by Jan.2 to handle students returning from the holiday break.
~
Once again, we have the right guy for the job, and that is the critical detail.

Mr. Nestor
Have you considered designing this shcoolhouse as a "green" design you can recieve EPA "Energy Star" accreditation, which comes with a Energy Star Plaque, and will reduce your overall energy costs/consumption as well, you may also be eligible to aply for LEED Certification, which is more difficult to acheive, but attainable in Existing building re-designs. By going with this Green Design you will be reducing the carbon footprint of the school, decreaseinmg the GHG Emissions and overall consumption. It is also a great marketing and educational tool that will help the sustainability of the building and your business. There are grants and incetives available form numerous local, state, and federal agencies to help with the cost of doing the right thing. There is also significant Federal tax benefits available by desiging a Energy Efficient facility. I would be happy to lend my services at out of pocket cost to you or the school (we can negotiate my daughter's tuition). Please call me if you would like to discuss this further. No matter what you think you already know about desingning the building this way or what your construction manager thinks I guarentee it is not correct. Don't be stupid, call me.
