Shuffling the Race Cards

OK Peeps......
It's time for your MOAM to sound in on this Zimmerman-Martin case.
~
I've been holding back.... actually not wanting to enter this land of highly charged politically correctness.
~
Peeps... right from the start... if you ever find me under you, getting my head slammed into a concrete curb after breaking my nose and  while you say shit like, "this is the day you die".... then I'm going to pull out my Smith and Wesson 380 and bid you a fond adieu.
~
I don't care how old you are.
I don't care about what your wearing.
I don't care about your race or country of origin.
~
That said.... a jury heard all of the other facts, and found the Hispanic guy innocent.
~
Not sure where race fits into this.   And Obama naturally was a Boob to say that Treyvon Martin could have been his son.   So Prez.... your kid was found in school with burglary tools and stolen items.... and was expelled twice in six months????  In fact, he was 200 miles away from his home at the time of the incident which occurred during his suspension from high school.   Looks like you have some serious parenting to attend to if you think that Martin was one of yours..
~
This kid obviously had some issues and Zimmerman was stupid to ever get out of his car when he reported this to E-911.  But being stupid isn't a crime.  (Thank the Good Lord).  I don't know how Martin ended up on top of Zimmerman... pummeling him.  I assume the jury and the people in that court of law do and deliberated long on how this occurred.
~
To all of those who think this is a racial thing.... I was around when OJ got off after slitting the throats of two white people.   And I was in the room when the Blacks in attendance cheered his acquittal.  Was that racial?    You bet your ass it was.
~
This time, two minorities met in a tragic confrontation.   The Hispanic guy got beat up good but lived.   The police didn't charge him initially until the PC patrol whipped this up into an issue thinking it was white on black.   Oh... the guy is Hispanic... what the hell, let's string him up anyway.
~
The jury found him innocent after reviewing all of the facts.
~
It's too bad all around.  A troubled black kid and a commando Hispanic guy in a sad and tragic confrontation.   Shame on all of the jerks that have used this as an excuse to play an irresponsible race card.

Gesture of Appreciation

The prism in the window put this rainbow right on my Washburn WD10ADE acoustical electrical guitar this morning.
~
I think it could be a sign that the Universe appreciates the late night stylings that I wield from this ax.
~
Or maybe not.

July Stripers

It's been a productive fishing season so far this summer as I've cleaned three keepers so far, including these two that Will and Ryan caught (Will's first) and one landed by future son-in-law, Brady Boyle.  Will reeled in his by himself and said he got really tired.   Hopefully, many more to come for him.

Jubilation for Juicing

Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor

We bought this cool new juicer from Amazon and are moving into a regime of juicing fruits and vegetables everyday.  Cutting down on carbs too, but nothing to excess.  After a bit of intestinal disruption, the immediate result is an increase in energy and an overall sense of feeling good.
~
And I've found that when you break down and have that burger or pizza, you feel fuller much faster and don't tend to gorge yourself.  It's as though your stomach has constricted.  So you don't loathe yourself for falling off the wagon.   You just eat less and enjoy it when you stray.
~
For the time being, we plan to juice in the morning and afternoon and have a meat and vegetable dinner.  In August, we'll go for another multi-day juice only detox fast.
~
With Kate's wedding on the way in September, it should be easy to keep this program in tow ... and then we can measure the weight loss effects.

Stay Classy San Diego

A key reason to question the media.

Environmentally Policed

So we are out at Halfway Rock yesterday, fishing for bait and having a good time, when we are pulled over by the Environmental Police who needed to board.  Checked for registration, life preservers, flares, fire extinguishers and fishing licenses.  With seven people on board, we had only six life preservers, so they wrote us up with a $100 fine.
~
Even with floatable cushions.  We were short a few salt water fishing licenses and confessed this, yet we had two on board along with a lobstering permit.
~
So we absolutely met the spirit and intent of the laws that they were seeking to enforce and portrayed no public nuisance of threat whatsoever.   No other boats were in hearing range.
~
I guess we looked like we were having too much fun on a Saturday afternoon.  The nice officers spent about 20 minutes checking out our drivers licenses on the internet and writing the citation.
~
Land of the Free?   Give me a break.
Definitely Home of the Brave though.

Coming up Short

We only made it half way into our three day juice fast, because of the deep fried striped bass chunks that we made of Ryan and Will's Keeper Catch.
~
I find no shame in that.
~
You try holding off from a plate of fresh stripped bass.   Breaded and deep fried to a crisp golden brown.
~
There's no way.
~
So today, we decided to juice in the morning and throughout the afternoon, then eat healthy for the evening meal.
~
That's a regime I can live with.... and we'll see how it fares in the weight loss battle.  But I'm not going to weigh myself everyday.   That just causes a downer if the scale is not cooperating, and who needs to judge everyday anyway.
~
Maybe this way, I can extend this into a long term habit.

POTW Week 27

It's been quite a heat wave in Boston this week.  Thank God for Tommy O's pool.

Juice Fast - Day 2

Joanne and I are on the second day of our 3 day juice fast.
~
This time we used the recipes in the BluePrint Cleanse, rather than buy the juices at retail, which would have amounted to about $350.00.  I figure that I bought less than two hundred bucks worth of fruit and vegetables, and juiced them in my Hamilton Beach Juicer, yielding 36, 16oz Mason jars worth of fresh juice.
~
I didn't do the cashew milk for this go around, and have been substituting the lemonade instead.   All of the juices taste fine as much as I'm concerned.   Joanne doesn't care for the Green juice.
~
Joanne has had some issues with the regime, but I've been ok, although this morning I'm a bit hungry.  In the afternoon, Ryan wants to grill the Striped Bass that he and Grandson Will caught yesterday, and that will be tempting to ditch this gig, but I'm trying to tough it our until tomorrow night.

Obamian Boondoggle

LIKE if you think Obama is a hypocrite!

When our POTUS closed the White House, which is owned by us, BTW, I wondered whether he had made a real rookie move and screwed himself on the hypocrisies when he took his family on his extensive and expensive taxpayer funded vacations.
~
But he seems to be too arrogant to be embarrassed by this.  And the First Lady, Michele, is freaking oblivious.

Path to Success

For the past three days, I've been suffering from ocular migranes.   Maybe suffering is a little dramatic..... enduring might be a better word.
~
Even though we, at Nanepashemet Telcom, are wicked good at what we do, there still is a bit of stress when we are starting a new job.... What are the stumbling points?  Where are the risks?  What are the customer expectations?  Will the customer be realistic or a HardAss?
~
The reason we think about these things is because we have been burnt by all of them in the past.  One thing that is unacceptable at Nanepashemet is failure.   We don't lose money, and we don't fail.    But that doesn't mean that we won't resign the account if it looks like either of these outcomes cannot be avoided.
~
In order to be successful, you have to have a path to success.   At the beginning of the project, that path is not always clear.
~
So I think that these ocular migranes are the result of stress as we roll out this big job.
~
Soon to be eliminated as the path clears up.

POTW Week 26

We have had our sights set on taking down  this big customer in the Telecom space ever since Nanepashemet filed with the Massachusetts Secretary of State a half dozen years or so ago.

This was the week we landed that Bad Boy.   And while my mind is fully at ease, the general state of my body is horrendous.   I hadn't realized that as the quarry came closer, any thought of exercise, or diet or recreation went right out the window.
~
After tossing and turning until 3:00 AM, I couldn't really rally off the couch today and spent some serious time irritating Henry the Cat.   Fatique, Body Pain, and General Malaise.
~
So no Fishing, rowing or sailing on a perfect summer day in Marblehead.

ANNOUNCING.....
Nanepashemet Peeps of the Week for the 26th Week of 2013
Mark Vona
Trish Rockett
Allie Peabody
Robin Latour
Will Murray
Bela Fleck

The one positive thing is that I decided to cut out the carbs (except for beer) in anticipation of the three day juice detox fast that we are planning for next weekend.

So at least I ate right, which is the beginning of the total turnaround.

The 4th in Marblehead

A week from now, it will be the 4th of July..... a big deal here in Marblehead.  This town had a huge role in the American Revolution, and basically drove any Tories out for the duration.   Townsmen served with valor and were particularly noted for ferrying Washington's Army across the Delaware River at the Battle of Trenton.
~
The loss of manpower put the Town in dire economic straits for a considerable period after the war, and when Washington visited Marblehead a few years later, he noted the tired and dilapidated state of the homes and Town facilities.
~
And those were the same homes that are found in Old Town today.
~
The town was a hardworking fishing village in those times, and its people were noted for their independence as well as a liberal attitude to race issues that plagued other areas.   It was also irreligious based upon the standards of the time and didn't relate to the Puritanical nature of other New England communities.
~
This past lingers in Marblehead, and the 4th of July seems to focus the present on a heritage that remains so prevalent and strong here.   We'll spend some time in Old Town and on the Harbor next week, and feel the effects of a storied past during the patriotic holiday.

PlaceMark

Peeps....
Those of you who know me best, know that I never reveal personal or business details in this complex yet simplistic compilation of Blog Posts.  They are none of your business anyway.
~
And I'm not going to start now.
~
But today was a placemarker at Nanepashemet Telecom.   A day when it is safe to say, we will look back as a turning point.... when a ton of effort and hard work lifted us to the next plateau.
~
Nanepashemet will never be a Fortune 500 company, nor do I wish to guide it to this position.  But it should be a viable entity for the foreseeable future, because of the event of this day.

Pram

Turf's UP!

This pram is the first boat that I built about seven years ago, from available plywood and lumber that I had on hand in the garage.  It has gone through a few iterations and now does service at the Marblehead side of Salem Harbor.   It came from a stock John Gardner plan with a few modifications, and this summer, I hope to sail it for the first time after setting up a sprit sail rig and centerboard.
~
I'm pretty sure that it is unsinkable, but it probably can flip pretty easily with a fat guy at the tiller.

Marvelous for Moonbats

A tip of the Cap to the Massachusetts Moonbats who now have the team of Liz Warren and Ed Markey as our US Senators.  This is a perfect time to work on that pesky gag reflex that I tend to get when the Lefties tell us how to run our lives.   No sense getting sick over the crazy shit that they will be trying to stuff down our throats.
~
The Prez has a couple of card carrying sycophants to help him solve Climate Change, open the gates to illegal immigrant voters, and screw up our health care.  We really have to invest in some tether lines down in DC to make sure that these lightweights don't blow away.
~
And speaking of our POTUS...., how is that Sequester going anyway????  So far, it has had the disastrous effects of closing the White House and grounding the Blue Angels.  Thought the government was going to shut down with millions unemployed?  Whatever....
~
Thank God it didn't effect the global travel of the Obama Royal Family.  That would have been the real disaster.
