Ready to Row

Peeps....
Got the Herreshoff Columbia Tender completely painted and varnished today and will be getting into the Harbor for a row tomorrow.  The Harbor Freight HVLP Spray Paint Gun was the hero.
~
Ryan and I also put the Pram on the ring on Friday, so the row boats are in.  The WhaleEye is to follow on Monday or Tuesday.   The boat chores are basically done.  All I have to do is fit the Piantedosi Rowing Rig onto the Tender tomorrow morning and a new rowing season is in full swing.
~
I was reluctant to paint the inside of the Tender gloss white, but it really came out great and will undoubtedly catch the same ohhs and ahhs that I have become accustomed to as I pilot with the sliding seat rig out of the harbor and out to the Islands.
~
When I finally get around to finishing the Marblehead Gunning Dory, I am going to paint the interior right off of the bat.  It's just too much work trying to leave the inside radius bright.  And the white high gloss marine above the waterline paint doesn't detract from the naturally finished hull at all.
~
Getting this stuff done by the end of June and before the 4th of July is acceptable, given the other things that I have to concentrate on.

Upward Mobility

That's my grandson Will Climbing the rock wall.
~
So now I know he can fish better than me.... and definitely climb better.
~
Wonder how he would do in front of a Zoning Board?

Peeps... just found out that this pathetic Blog has a 4 1/2 star rating.
That is so freaking confusing.... I wouldn't rate it more than a half star if that.

There must be something wrong here.  Yet we are getting more and more hits each and every day, and are barrel assing up the rankings of the most popular Blogs on the Web.

So despite it's deranged and pathetic postings, this Blog is just oozing quality and popularity.   That's impressive.... even to a Mountain of a Man like me.
~
But still.... very little of you hapless hitters are sending cash.
~
Don't you think that if you enjoy my mindless ramblings every day.... that you should send a check from time to time?   I certainly do.  Especially since all the receipts are donated to my favorite charity.... the JJ Fund.... providing financial enrichment and bottles of Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch to Yours Truly.
~
BTW, please make all checks out to JJ "MOAM" Nestor.   I haven't got around to setting up the JJ Fund bank account yet and will be cashing your checks as soon as you send them.
~
And I wouldn't exactly claim the contribution as a charity write off either, but you should check with your personal accountant.

Painful Compassion

Sometimes when you see people in a self- destructive, delusional pattern, you wish that you could help them see the folly of their ways.   Even when they are irrational and obnoxious, you still feel for the situations that they put themselves in.
~
But they still plummet towards an inevitable conclusion despite any advice that you can render.
~
Compassion can be painful... even for a Mountain of a Man.

Fun Evening

Had a great time on the Boston Yacht Club porch with our old friend from high school, Wayne Webster, and his wife Claudia tonight.
~
I still don't know what Wayne does, but it is something to do with consulting to cardiologists.
~
It was cool to see the cannon and flag ceremony.

Advance Notice

Peeps....
WhaleEye will be in well before the 4th, so don't email me anymore OK?
~
We'll be doing some harbor tours, grilling at Brown's Island and celebrating the birth of this great nation... and celebrating all sorts of other stuff.
~
No..... we won't be packing it in at Nanepashemet Telecom... there's way too much to do and the customer demand isn't letting up even a little.
~
And Yes...... the Nanepashemet Rental Program is coming along great as well.  Lots of investor interest and we have picked up on some excellent management techniques and resources for solving some of the common concerns.
~
So that should answer your annoying questions before you need to burden me with your whiny vm's and irritating emails.

For Future Reference

@BT
You can send first-class mail to the old address with an "Return Service Requested" endorsement. The mail will be returned to you with the new address if the USPS has a forwarding address on file.    So  you can easily find them for future references and legal if needed.  For the rest of the process, go by the agreement,  make sure you follow the rules, and everything will work out fine.
UPDATE - Mini G has given me all the statements I need.  I have their ID through a verifiable URL path to their Comcast account.
Let me know if I can help you on your case.  Hit this to return

Healthcare and Hell

They are dancing on ABC News tonight as the Supreme Court held ObamaCare as constitutional.  Apparently the Government can force us to make purchases against our will.
~
Diane Sawyer is downright moist, and George Stephanademocratopofus has that little twinkle in his leftest, liberally biased eyes.
~
And why are you anchorless Peeps looking at me with your confused, out-to-lunch gazes????
~
As you know, I don't have all of the answers... and the few that I have are usually off the mark.
~
But my considered, Mountain of a Man opinion is that the cost of health care for working stiffs will skyrocket, and the quality will plummet.
~
If you are one of the Loser, suck off of the producers and contribute nothing, types.... I wouldn't celebrate too hard.   Even ObamaCare won't help you in Hell.

Ratchet

Peeps...
I've decided to ratchet things up a little bit.
~
And those of you who know me probably know what's coming.
~
A little bit of balls to the wall, who gives a shit action....  plus some other stuff.
~
Hate to go there, but it's a case of the Captain speaking to Maximus.
~
BT.  Give me a call.  You will enjoy this.

Wild Bill Said...
"If we wish to fight, the enemy can be forced to an engagement even though he be sheltered behind a high rampart and a deep ditch. All we need do is attack some other place that he will be obliged to relieve. If we do not wish to fight, we can prevent the enemy from engaging us even though the lines of our encampment be merely traced out on the ground. All we need do is to throw something odd and unaccountable in his way"

Backing Off of Shaq

Ryan was asked to be in a scene in GrownUps 2 today down at Five Corners,  but declined because of the work at Nanepashemet.
~
Even I'm impressed that he would give up his movie career to work here.
~
Standing next to Shaq should have at least been as exciting as sitting next to the Mountain of a Man.  But maybe not.

Apple Computer Experience

Ryan and I went over to the Apple store at the North Shore Mall today.
~
We unassumingly bought an Apple desktop with a big freaking screen to process all of the photo uploads that our Nanepashemet Telecom work requires.
~
Ryan says it works 50% faster than the HP Laptop that he was using.
~
So maybe our productivity will soar.
~
Even if it doesn't, the Apple product line is way cool.  And the people in the store... customers and salespeople... all seemed upbeat and wicked happy.   Old people, young geeks, minorities (actually I think Liz Warren could find some 1/32 Cherokees to hang out with there), and I bet a few of them were even Republicans.
~
I'd like to tell you how I worked with the Apple I, the Apple II and the original 128K Macintosh when I was a young professional... but I won't because it's boring.... even to a MOAM like me.
~
Apple had the superior product, but they inhibited 3rd party developers, so that Microsoft based computers gained the business edge.
~
They hung on and rebounded with the iPhone and iPad, and now have a sleek line that interfaces seamlessly with these state of the art devices.
~
Apple is a phenomenal company.

No Eggs Pancakes

FLUFFY EGGLESS PANCAKES
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoon butter

Combine dry ingredients and mix slightly. Add milk, oil, water, and vanilla. Whisk together until just combined. Be careful not to over mix - it should still be slightly lumpy. Set aside to rest for a few minutes.Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. While pan is heating, add butter. As soon as the butter is melted, add melted butter to pancake batter.
Return pan to stove and stir butter into batter.
When pan is hot, with a measuring cup or ladle, pour 1/4 cup of batter into the skillet for each pancake.
Cook until bubbles form on the surface. Carefully flip pancakes with turner/spatula and cook until golden brown.
Note: This recipe also works well with whole wheat flour. Chopped fruit, nuts or chocolate chips can be added to batter before cooking for a unique treat.

Sometimes, a MOAM must make pancakes from scratch when he is out of eggs.
