The Scarlet Letter

Not for nuthin'.... But..... You may know that the MOAM along with his best bud, CapeMan, is a huge Pats fan. So...... the MOAM has been watching this Mike Vrabel situation and I got to say it straight. Look, a man's personal life — who he's holding hands with or whatever goes on behind closed doors — is nobody else's damn business. Vrabel's marriage is his own deal, not ours to judge or pick apart like some tabloid vultures. If he's stepping away for "therapy" or whatever, that's between him, his family, and God. End of story.
BUT... here's where the New England Patriots turn into the New England Puritans again. This same organization that loves preaching "The Patriot Way," acting all high and mighty, pointing fingers at everyone else's scandals... suddenly gets caught trying to bury their own coach's story faster than you can say Salem witch trial. Hypocrisy much? They can't have it both ways — stay out of the bedroom, but don't play holier-than-thou while doing it.The MOAM calls BS on the double standard.

Personal life is personal... until the "Puritans" in Foxboro try to control the narrative like it's 1692 all over again.
MOAM Out.

The Act is Getting Old

 Not for nuthin’…. But…..

What is the game with this whole “peace negotiations” mess with Iran?????
Look, we just came off that two-week ceasefire that was supposed to lead to serious talks in Pakistan. Trump extended it because he’s giving them one last chance to submit a real proposal and wrap this up. Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy is still blockading their ports and the Strait of Hormuz (which Iran calls an “act of war,” by the way), and Tehran is still hemming and hawing — “no decision yet,” “lift the blockade first,” “we’re positively reviewing.” Sound familiar?
These guys have been running the same stall tactic since the mullahs took over. They talk, they drag their feet, they enrich uranium behind the scenes, they fund every terror group that hates us, and the second you show weakness they pocket whatever concessions you gave them and start the whole game over.
We saw it with the old deal. History doesn't lie. Right now the only thing keeping them at the table is the fact that we’re not budging on the blockade and they know the alternative is a whole lot worse.
Anyone heard from John Kerry??? Apparently, He's taking a pass on this one.
Strength wins. Always has. So while the diplomats sip tea in Islamabad and the media wrings its hands, the MOAM is telling you straight: this is not “peace talks” — this is Iran trying to buy time while we hold all the cards.

Gulp at the Gulf

Not for nothing.... But..... the MOAM is sitting here this Wednesday afternoon, , sipping my clove-and-turmeric tea, scratching my head over the latest fireworks in the Strait of Hormuz since I last weighed in on that mess.

You ’know, back when I posted about the Iran situation and that “reopening” — gas prices already spiking like a bad hangover — the MOAM figured the Navy had the tech, the grit, and the history to keep the world’s most important oil choke-point from turning into a shooting gallery. Coalition work, tough calls, headlines we wouldn’t like… but strength wins, history says so
.Well, fast-forward a few days and here we are: today Iran’s IRGC fired on three ships, seized two of them, and dragged ’em into their waters like it was Tuesday. All while Trump just extended the ceasefire and the diplomats were still trying to drag everybody to the table in Pakistan.
Tit-for-tat, they call it. The MOAM calls it poking the bear while the bear’s trying to de-escalate. Third vessel left disabled off the coast, navigation aids messed with, maritime safety “endangered” — their words, not mine. Oil markets are already twitching again, and every trucker and soccer mom back home is gonna feel it at the pump by the weekend.
Here’s the MOAM’s take: Iran’s testing whether we’ll blink. They’ve been playing this game for years — harass, seize, deny, repeat — but the Strait ain’t theirs to close on a whim. Freedom of navigation is non-negotiable, and the U.S. Navy didn’t spend decades patrolling these waters just to hand the keys over now.
Public back home ain’t exactly lining up for another long haul in the sand, sure… but when push comes to shove, we get it done. Real-deal coalition pressure, some hard decisions in the Situation Room, and yeah, probably a few more messy headlines.
Strength still wins. History still says so.Stay frosty out there, peeps.
The MOAM’s got the kettle on if you need to talk it through.
MOAM out.

Peace Talk

 Not for nuthin'.... But.....

the MOAM is sitting here sipping my afternoon clove, cinnamon and turmeric coffee with a pinch of black pepper..,.... and scratching my head at these so-called "peace negotiations" with Iran.
Peeps, let's cut through the fog.
That two-week ceasefire they slapped together back on April 7th is hanging by a thread and about to expire any minute now. Trump and Vance are geared up for round two in Pakistan, but Iran just came out and said they got "no plans" and "no decision" on even showing up. Same old song and dance from the mullahs—talk tough, drag their feet, and hope we blink first while they keep playing games in the Strait of Hormuz.
MOAM's take? .....
This ain't rocket science. You don't negotiate peace with folks who only respect strength. Trump's been crystal clear.... peace through strength, or we show 'em what real consequences look like.
We've seen this movie before—weak deals get shredded, strong ones last. Right now the ball's in Iran's court, but don't hold your breath waiting for them to play fair.
America first, always
.MOAM out.

MOAM Marathon Monday

Not for nothing.... But..... the MOAM is just sitting here this Patriots' Day morning…. sipping my special coffee and thinking about all those runners lining up in Hopkinton right now for the Boston Marathon.

What a tradition, huh? Oldest annual marathon in the world, been running strong since 1897, right through the streets of our backyard. From the gun to the finish line on Boylston, past the crowds hollering and the hills that will break your heart if you are not ready. It is not just a race — it is Boston on its feet, every third Monday in April, rain or shine, good times or tough ones.

And what motivates them, the MOAM has to remark?   It is not always the glory or the big check for the elite pros. Nah. It is the everyday Peeps — the teachers, the vets, the moms and dads, the ones chasing a personal best or running for a cause bigger than themselves. It is pushing through the wall on Heartbreak Hill at mile 20, hearing the cheers from strangers who know exactly what it takes. It is being part of something that is bigger than one person, standing up to the miles and saying, “I am still here.” Boston Strong is not just a slogan — it is in the blood of every soul toeing that line today.

The MOAM is not a marathoner proud to have done it once, but that is another story.  When I ran, the starting field was only 2,000 runners and women were not eligible to compete.  Can’t imagine the now with over 30,000 runners!   But I have to tip my hat to every last one of them. You got this, runners. Run like the city is watching, and proud of you…..because we are.

Opening the Strait

Not for nothing.... But..... the MOAM is sitting here sipping my Sunday morning coffee laced with clove, cinnamon and turmeric,.... and scratching my head over this whole mess in the Straits of Hormuz.

Peeps, the United States is facing one hell of a pickle if we have to pry that narrow little choke point back open for the oil tankers. First off, it's a shooting gallery down there. Iran's got speedboats swarming like hornets, anti-ship missiles lined up on the hills, drones buzzing around, and enough mines scattered in the water to make any Navy captain lose sleep. The strait is barely 21 miles wide at the skinny part, so our big fancy ships are sitting ducks in a bathtub.

 Logistics? Forget it.

Clearing mines while dodging swarms of cheap Iranian junk is going to chew up time, ships, and good American lives. Then you have the politics—oil prices already spiking through the roof, allies acting squirrelly, and the risk of this thing blowing up into a bigger regional nightmare with Russia and China whispering in Iran's ear. The public back home is not exactly eager for another long haul in the sand, either.

But here's the MOAM's take....we'll get it done, because that's what we do when push comes to shove. The Navy has the tech, the grit, and the history of handling worse. It'll take some real-deal coalition work, some tough calls, and yeah, probably a few headlines we won't like. Eventually?

Mark my words—the strait reopens, the tankers start rolling through again, and Iran backs down once they realize we are not bluffing. It might take weeks or months, not days, and it will cost us, but America comes out on top like always. Strength wins. History says so.

MOAM out.

Simulated Trading Frustration

I've been practicing with the IBRK paper trading sim system until my trading account is funded this week.  The trades are slow and not responsive to the Buttons and Hot Keys.  Very irritating and contrary to a simulated trading session that mirrors the really situation.  Hopefully this will not be the same on Thurs. when live trading resumes.

The share sizes will be kept low.  10 shares at most until profitable patterns emerge.  Hopefully, the MACD and BB Band strategy will prove to be the ticket to successful trades.  Looks promising, but only the real deal will tell.

Day Trading.... At the Brink

The MOAM has neglected the Nanepashemet Blog lately as I have taken my attention to learning the nuances of Day Trading during the last three months or so since the beginning of the year.

As you may know, health issues and generally stuff that affects people who have aged have beset me.  I had thought that I was immune to the things that catch up with normal people as time rolls on.... but my doctors have told me differently. About a year ago, I fell carrying tools out of the shed and landed on the driveway asphalt with my shoulder bearing the brunt of the mishap.  Although the pain was bearable, the shoulder wasn't, and my mobility and strength was impaired.

Dr. Ryan Churchill of the Mass General Hospital operated and pinned it back together..... but it crimped my efforts to keep the remodeling business active.  Then I got diagnosed with prostate cancer.

My Urologist, Dr. Michael Kearney, didn't seem concerned as be caught this in early stages and over the next few months, we set in motion radiation treatments designed to zap the offensive cells away from my private areas.  I anticipate this will restore the normal vitality that the MOAM has enjoyed through out his extraordinary lifespan.

Needing to replace the construction business cashflow with something more passive was the new challenge.  I first looked to this pathetic Blog to place advertising and create a flow of income, but no dice.  Even though the viewership increased, the revenue didn't respond in kind.

I then tried to sell stuff with affiliate marketing efforts through Amazon and Esty.  No luck there either.

Somehow, Day Trading caught my attention.  Here was something that I could do to create an income without physical activity and attention to a marketing area and workspace.  No insurance or license requirements either.  So, I moved around some money from my 401k to meet pattern trading rules and started trading.

For a while, it was downhill with a cumulative loss of three thousand dollars or so.  Then, in two Days, I gained it all back and then some.  Seemed like the MOAM was headed for the land of Milk and Honey.  But that was short-lived, and I found out how fickle the stock market can be with a new series of setbacks.

I stepped back and changed my trading platform to Interactive Brokers (IBRK) and began intensive examination of market indicators like Bollinger Bands and MACD patterns. And I followed the advice of a trader in YouTube named Ross Carmeron, who showed me the types of stocks that would be best for the style of scalp day trading that I have been pursuing.

Next week, my account will be up to a level to begin live trading and chase a weekly profit goal.

Day Trading is not for everyone.  But I have immersed myself in the nuances and conditions of this, and and am optimistic that I can turn this into the type of cash return that befits the standard of living that the MOAM has been accustomed to.

Will give you details of how this transpires.....

A.I. Generated this post about shopping at Costco - we are Screwed

Shopping at Costco: A Journey Through Abundance and Community

In the ancient land of Nanepashemet, where the whispering winds carried tales of the moon and the rivers sang songs of abundance, there existed a place unlike any other—the great emporium known as Costco. Gather 'round, dear readers, as I weave for you a tale of shopping, camaraderie, and bulk-sized wonders.

The Gathering Place

Costco, nestled amidst the rolling hills of modern-day Danvers, Massachusetts, beckons travelers from far and wide. Its doors swing open, revealing a treasure trove of goods—stacks of bounty that would make even Nanepashemet himself raise an eyebrow. The air hums with anticipation, and the scent of freshly baked muffins dances through the aisles.

The Dance of the Carts

As shoppers enter, they grasp their chariots—the mighty shopping carts—each one a vessel for dreams and practical necessities alike. These metal steeds glide across the polished floors, their wheels singing a harmonious tune. The rhythm of footsteps blends with the clatter of bulk cereal boxes, creating a symphony of commerce.

The Art of Sampling

Ah, the sampling stations! Here, the gods of taste bestow their blessings upon the hungry pilgrims. A morsel of cheese, a sip of organic juice—these are the offerings that fuel the journey. Nanepashemet’s descendants gather, their eyes alight with delight, as they sample and nod in approval. “Verily,” they say, “this smoked salmon is fit for a sachem!”

The Quest for the Perfect Rotisserie Chicken

Behold the rotisserie chicken—a golden orb of succulence, spinning on its spit. Shoppers circle like hungry wolves, drawn by its aroma. “Two for the price of one,” proclaims the sign, and hearts swell with joy. Nanepashemet himself would have traded his finest wampum for such a deal.

The Great Pallet Hunt

In the cavernous aisles, shoppers seek the elusive pallets—the towering stacks of bounty. “Behold,” cries one, “a year’s supply of paper towels!” Another discovers a mountain of avocados, ripe and ready for guacamole feasts. And lo, the oversized teddy bears—companions for lonely nights or grand feasts.

The Fellowship of the Checkout Line

At the checkout, a fellowship forms. Strangers become allies, sharing tales of savings and discoveries. “Did you see the colossal jar of pickles?” asks one. “And the industrial-sized Nutella?” replies another. They exchange knowing glances, for they are bound by the Costco code: “Thou shalt buy in bulk and rejoice.”

The Farewell

As the sun sets over the parking lot, shoppers emerge, laden with treasures. Their carts overflow with bounty—gallons of olive oil, towers of toilet paper, and a lifetime supply of granola bars. They nod to one another, their hearts full. “Until next week,” they say, “may the spirits of Nanepashemet guide our way.”

And so, dear readers, let us honor the legacy of Nanepashemet as we navigate the aisles of Costco. For in this modern-day emporium, we find not just goods, but a sense of community—a place where abundance and camaraderie intertwine like the rivers of old.

May your carts be ever full, your samples divine, and your rotisserie chickens perfectly seasoned. And remember: Nanepashemet smiles upon those who buy the 96-pack of toilet paper.

Note: This blog post is a whimsical tribute to the spirit of Nanepashemet and the joy of shopping at Costco. Any resemblance to actual historical events or sachems is purely coincidental.
