Mine training for the DC Marathon consisted of me running the Boston Marathon yesterday. I didn't get the time I desired although I did get a respectable 3 hours 26 minutes. Reason being that I blew my knee out again during the race. Not a pleasant feeling. But I cas pain aside and finished the marathon anyways.
However I think that is going to put me out of the DC marathon since it takes several months for my knee to fully heal and I won't have any time to train after that.
So tell your buddies they got lucky and now maybe one of them can take what would have been my first place finish.
